I really enjoy watching Asian Dramas like this. I should say, this is one of my hobbies. :)
So now, I will introduce to you my recently favored Korean drama.
Boys Before Flowers (or
Hana Yori Dango in japanese) is a popular manga (comics) by Yoko Kamio in Japan. It has 37 volumes and is said to be the Best Selling [shojo] Manga.
Shojo Manga meaning marketed for female audiences. It has been made into 3 drama adaptations: Taiwanese (also known as Meteor Garden), Japanese, and Korean (but there are rumors that China will make one also).
Korean Version:Jan Di is an average girl whose family owns a dry cleaning store located near the luxurious and well known Shin Hwa College. Jan Di meets the four richest and most spoiled boys known as the F4. After saving a boy from jumping off the roof of Shinhwa High School, she is admitted into the school on a swimming scholarship. Jan Di tries to avoid confrontation with the F4 at all cost because she knows what happens to those that stand against them. However, when Jan Di's friend, Oh Min Ji, accidentally gets ice cream on the leader of the F4's shoes, she's forced to declare war on the leader of the F4, Goo Joon Pyo (the heir of Shin Hwa Group, the most successful company in Korea).
Drama wikiEventually, Jun Pyo fell in love with Jan Di even though according to him she is not rich, not pretty, and not smart. But there are lots obstacles in their relationship.
- At first, she doesn't like Jun Pyo because of his angst-filled attitude. Instead, she likes Ji Hoo, another F4 member but the complete opposite of Jun Pyo.
- Jun Pyo's mom is against their relationship.
- She cant give back to everything Jun Pyo does for her. Thus, she thinks that she is not worthy of her love.
- They are from different worlds.
As the story goes, you will see how Jun Pyo and Jan Di ,together with the other 3 members of F4 and Ga Eul (Jan Di's best friend) fight for their desires and solve each others' problems and concerns.
